Build on a setup that suits your workflow.
Check the actual edition
The product page and its downloadable release define which operating systems, architectures and formats are available. A listed platform or a Coming Soon card is not a downloadable release. These general instructions do not make every Anumys product compatible with every system.
Physical computers only
Anumys software must run on a real (physical) computer. Running it inside a virtual machine (for example VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V or Parallels) is not allowed: a licence is tied to one specific computer, and a virtual machine can be copied, cloned or moved, which would defeat that. Activate and use each product directly on your own computer.
Plugin or standalone?
A plugin needs a DAW or host that supports its format and architecture. A VST3 host cannot load a CLAP file simply because both are plugins. The standalone build, when supplied, runs without a DAW; it still needs the application's required resources and an appropriate audio setup.
For MidAI's available Windows release, the documented formats are VST3, CLAP and Standalone. In a DAW, MidAI follows the host's tempo. Standalone has its own tempo controls. Dragging MIDI into a host depends on that host's drag-and-drop support; saving and importing the MIDI file is an alternative.
CPU, memory and storage
There is no single published CPU or RAM minimum covering all Anumys products. Use the release-specific requirements where provided and try the available free version on your machine. Leave room for your DAW, instruments, sample libraries, exported files and the operating system.
For recording applications, resolution, frame rate, encoder choice and buffering affect resource use. Hardware encoding depends on your GPU and drivers. For AI-assisted plugins, remote generation can take time even when the local interface is responsive.
When internet access is needed
- Downloading releases and checking purchases require access to the Anumys services.
- Licence activation and server verification require a reachable licence service.
- AI generation, AI checks and Anumys credits require access to the selected service.
- The website AI assistant also requires internet access.
MidAI's documentation describes local preview, editing and already-generated MIDI as local operations once started. This is not a promise of permanent offline activation: free-mode checks and product-specific verification can still require the server.
Before using the software
Read the Terms, Privacy Policy and relevant documents in Legal & Policies. Plugin licences and AI usage are separate: buying a plugin does not automatically include paid AI-provider access or Anumys credits. Free-mode limits depend on the product and are explained in its interface.
