Start with the right download
Use the available download on the product page or the download linked to your purchase in Account. Match your operating system, CPU architecture and required plugin format. Keep a copy of your own presets and project files before updating.
MidAI downloads currently offer a Windows package with VST3, CLAP and Standalone builds. VideoGrab downloads provide a Windows x64 application package. Other products and platforms have their own release status.
When using an installer
- Close the application and your DAW before installation or an update.
- Download and extract the package. If an installer or setup is included, run it and follow its instructions.
- Select the product, format and destination offered by that installer. Writing into system plugin folders may require administrator permission.
- Finish installation, reopen your DAW and request a plugin rescan.
- Open the plugin or standalone application. Follow its first-launch settings and, if purchased, activate your licence.
Use the installer instructions supplied with your release: not every product package includes an installer, and the available installer controls can differ.
Manual installation on Windows
If your download contains plugin files rather than setup, extract it first. Copy the complete plugin file or bundle, including the contents of its directory.
| Format | Typical destination |
|---|---|
| VST3 | C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 |
| CLAP | C:\Program Files\Common Files\CLAP, or the CLAP path configured in your host |
| Standalone | Keep the executable with its required libraries, resources and companion files in the extracted application folder. |
Do not load a standalone executable as a DAW plugin or rename one plugin format into another. A DAW must support the actual format you install. Other operating systems use their own package instructions and plugin locations.
Make it appear in your DAW
Check your DAW's plugin paths and run its rescan command. If the plugin was previously scanned unsuccessfully, inspect the host's failed-scan or blocked-plugin list. Remove an obsolete duplicate copy from a custom folder if your DAW keeps loading the old version.
Application packages are different
VideoGrab is an application, not a plugin. Extract its package and open MrGrab.Gui.exe. Keep mrgrab.exe and ffmpeg.exe alongside it, as described on its product page. Keep the included licence and build information with the package.
If installation fails, note the exact message, package version and destination before contacting issues@anumys.eu.
